We began as Reines Motor Co., a tiny used car dealership, in 1946. After serving in the military in WWII, "Dusty" Reines rented space beside a gas station where he sold used cars. He worked hard and, several years later, was able to move the company to a small lot with an office and garage that he had bought in Arlington, VA. In the early 1960s, "Dusty" bought three travel trailers to sell at Reines Motor Co. He found that he enjoyed the travel trailer business more than the used car business, so he phased out cars and phased in RVs. His sons, Lindsey and Richard, loved going to work with "Dusty" when they weren't in school. Lindsey sold his first RV at fourteen years old and, as a child, Richard designed several travel trailers that were manufactured and sold. He also convinced his father to change the company name to Reines Motor and Trailer Co.
In 1982, we needed more space and moved to a former car dealership on two acres in Fairfax, VA. "Dusty" retired and Lindsey and Richard took over the business. We hired more people and expanded into more of a full service RV dealership. With hard work and enthusiasm, the dealership prospered and we eventually outgrew that facility.
Over the years, we have been honored many times, winning (so far) fourteen Winnebago Circle of Excellence awards, ten Fleetwood Circle of Excellence awards, an RVDA Top Quality Dealer of the Year award and two RV Business Magazine Top 50 Dealer Awards, among others. Lindsey Reines is proud to carry on his family's vision and to help other families fulfill theirs by enjoying the RV lifestyle.
